Hello golfer,
In this week's newsletter we talk through a true risk and reward hole at Garon Park, show you photos from the shop refurbishment and provide you details for two events that are taking place in March.
Shop refurbishment at Garon Park
The shop refit is well on its way with the repositioning of our counter now complete. The next stage is for the golf companies - Callaway, Titleist /FootJoy, Under Armour, Nike and PING - to design their shop displays within our shop. The reason for this exciting project is to provide more shop space, giving our valued customers more choice, unrivalled pricing and excellent PGA knowledge service.
All this will make Garon Park pro shop the best around
Summer is not far away because we have just received the brand new range of SunWise sunglasses. Prices range from £19.95 to only £29.95, with a fantastic design, interchangeable lens on some styles and are great value.
Professional Steve Jackson is on holiday this week. Obviously somewhere nice this time of year, but no, he is climbing up mountains in the Lake District (he's mad). We will include some pictures from his travels next week.
We have two Club Fitting Days coming up this month, please find the details below. If you'd like to book a place at either event, get in touch here.
West #3 - 144/89 yards (par-3)
A short par-3 that plays 144 yards off the back tees. It faces due north and if that cold wind blows it can be a little terror, especially with bunkers right and left of the small green. Always use one more club than expected as the green widens much more at the back. Three is a good score.
West #4 - 326/269 yards (par-4)
This is a nice short par-4 with the drive over a small lake, so don't top it! There is a well-placed pot bunker on the fairway some 225 yards from the tee. If you decide to drive safely on the right side of the bunker, your second shot has to contend with the large bunker on the right side of the green (especially when the pin is on the right). Driving left of the bunker risks going out of bounds, but the reward for a great drive is firing a second shot at an open green setting up a birdie chance. A true risk and reward hole.
