Weall know that shots off the fairway with woodsare pretty difficult, and topping the ball is acommon thing. Make sure you are using a 5or 7-wood that are easier to getairborne. In the swing, you need to imagine theball being another three to six inches furtherback than it actually is. This will encourage asweeping attack into and through the ball (thinkof scarring the ground before and after impact). You can be worried about hitting the fairway toomuch, but be brave and have a go.
West#7 - 218/190yards (par-3)
This a long, demanding par-3 measuring 218 yardsoff the backs. The tee shot requires accuracyand length. The green is 37 yards long andpretty narrow, as well as being guarded by anasty little pot bunker on the front right ofthe green. There is another bunker runningparallel with the green on the left side.
To play the hole, it's recommended that you takea line on the pot bunker, but be sure to takeenough club to clear it (especially when the pinis at the back of the green).
